The screen carries the line automatic code washing at 01:00:00 every morning. Code washing is the platform’s term for the rebate calculation run: activity from the previous cycle is totalled and the rebate becomes available.

The calculation is automatic; the claim is not. A rebate that is never claimed sits on the screen rather than arriving in your balance, so the one-click button is a step you have to actually take.

What a rebate does not do

This is the part worth being precise about, because rebate is the mechanic most often presented as a way to play at no cost.

A rebate returns a small percentage of turnover. The house edge is applied to that same turnover, and it is larger than the rebate rate. So a rebate slows the rate at which a balance declines — it does not stop it, and it certainly does not reverse it.

There is a second effect worth naming. Because rebate accrues on turnover rather than outcome, it rewards volume — the more you wager, the more rebate you earn. That is a mechanic which makes playing more feel like earning more, while each additional wager still carries its expected loss.
